Of all the people who have made their mark in the history of Buffet Crampon, Robert Carrée is without doubt one of the most important. He dedicated his career to perfecting the musical instrument artistically as well as mechanically. Creator of legendary instruments such as the French bassoon and the Dynaction saxophone, he revolutionised the world of the clarinet with the development of a new line with a unique, poly-cylindrical bore.

The RC model, already the world reference, received a redesign in 2014, benefiting from ten years of acoustical research and development.

• The overall intonation of the instrument has been reviewed and enhanced to better adapt to the ever-increasing demands of the musician. It’s warm, centered tone, projection, and its improved evenness of response and intonation will give pure satisfaction to musicians aspiring to a professional level.

• Adjustable thumb rest: For a more natural and comfortable hand position
• Undercut tone holes: Improves tone and ease of response
• Power forged silver-plated keywork and posts, pre-plated in copper, finished in silver plate: Long lasting finish and comfortable feel
• Leather pads: Long lasting and provides a great seal
• Bore: Upper joint Poly-cylindrical, lower joint and bell conical
• Tapered bore design: For a warmer sound
• Two barrels: 64mm and 65mm

The Buffet RC A clarinet is supplied in a lockable hard double case with keys and two barrels (64/65mm).  Also included is a Buffet mouthpiece cap and ligature, pull through, cork grease and a sample reed. Nb. A mouthpiece is no longer supplied with this model.
