It is characterized by a warm dark sound with an abundance of tonal colours. They have been developed in close collaboration with top artists and represent the highest standard of construction and workmanship. The instruments are just as suitable for soloists as they are for the safe accompaniment of any ensemble.


The 641 is a professional Bb- tuba. Its special feature is its rotary valve design, producing the classic German sound, as well as precise intonation and easy playability, as is achieved only by the use of the latest technology. Characteristic is her warm and deep tone, with a wealth of timbres.

Wear & Tear Observations: There is hardly any wear to the lacquer on this instrument although there is a small area on the bell where the lacquer has completely worn away to leave the brass visible. There are a few scratches on the bell flare and an area of scratching further down the bell. There are a few visible dinks and dents on the instrument. PLEASE NOTE, these can be removed by our brass technician if requested, but will leave scarring and marking on the lacquer. This Tuba was bought new in Japan, in 1996 and has had one owner.

Supplied with

This Yamaha Tuba is supplied in its original Hard, Brown Faux Leather Case with 4 fully functioning clasps, side, and top handles. The wheels on the case both roll smoothly. The case is very sturdy and durable. There are a few scuffs and tears on the outside of the case. It comes fully equipped with all keys.

This instrument is also supplied with a brown fabric gig bag which is ideal for easy transportation of the instrument. The case has a black interior and has There is also a Denis Wick 5518 Tuba Straight Mute which comes in a brown fabric carry case that matches the gig bag. There are two mouthpieces supplied with the instrument. One is a Yamaha, silver-plated 67C4 and the other is a silver-plated Bach 24AW. There is also a leather mouthpiece pouch provided.
