This oboe is ideal for someone who has some grounding on the oboe, to appreciate the left hand keywork. Also ideal for a player looking for a darker tone.
This is a half open hole, wooden, English thumb plate system oboe. With long F and C # and a B to C link. This is a pro level instrument of its time, ideal now for an experienced player.
With a darker round sound and comfortable keywork.
There is some wear to plating as expected for its age, but otherwise is in good order. Would benefit from a full re-pad – offers invited. Original hard case included.

This oboe comes in a worn hard snake-skin style case with blue lining. There is a reed case also.
About the maker
Dating from 1919, Kreul oboes was founded in Tubingen, Germany, by Hans Kreul. Succeeded first by his son, Hans Kreul, Jr., Kreul oboes has been directed since 1980 by Hans Kreul's grandson, Hans-Joachim Kreul.
For years many Kreul oboes were exported to American under the name Gordet, and Mirafone, with many not being aware that Kreul were the manufacturers.
