Great Value

I bought this used and it’s great to play. For the price, new or used, it’s a bargain and I doubt I’ll be needing an upgrade for a good while. The supplied case and mouthpiece are also spot on.

Outstanding Cornet

This cornet is the best cornet I have ever played. I have owned two professional cornets and sold them as this is the best out of them all. The tone is deep and dark. The valves work perfectly. Do not discount this cornet because it is priced at the lower end of the market. Best cornet buy I have ever owned. Fantastic instrument.

Fantastic!

I absolutely love the sound quality of this cornet with the Smith Watkins leadpipe. I am in my mid-50s and play 3rd cornet in a local brass band. Already, as a lower intermediate player I am achieving a tone and a range that I have never managed before on other instruments. Thank you so much John Packer. I would throughly recommend this fantastic instrument.

I'm Impressed!!

Had been looking for a cornet and seen a few new and pre-owned that I liked. Hadn't heard of this brand until recently when a fellow player bought it. This is a model or two below his but for the price I couldn't pass it up. It plays beautifully. Not even sure I'll replace the original mouthpiece. I WILL recommend this to anyone who ask.

What a gem

I started playing cornet just 9 months ago. I have played a Yamaha student cornet belonging to our band, but this JP model cornet is mine. Under no circumstances would I ever swap this £200 JP cornet for the £500 Yamaha. I can't fault the Yamaha's build quality but in every other respect the JP171SW is better. More 'alive', louder, quieter, easier to blow, easier to get to top G, more in tune throughout the range and with a 4B Denis Wick mouthpiece, I can get sounds that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

We'll done JP
