It is relatively light in weight and has covered keys, making it ideal for the younger player. It is has a new design of key mechanism, specifically to help younger players and adults to hold the instrument comfortably and enable easier playing.
The Howarth S30CTP is a conservatoire with thumbplate, or "dual" system instrument. This "dual" system allows the player to take advantage of alternative fingerings for some notes.
