A Brief History of BERP

In 1986, Los Angeles Philharmonic trumpeter Mario Guarneri developed the Buzz Extension and Resistance Piece (B.E.R.P.) for brass instruments—a dynamic advancement in brass pedagogy. The Berp is a tool you can use to help yourself become a better brass player. It helps you develop proper breath support by blowing into resistance, letting you buzz your mouthpiece while you hold your instrument in the regular playing position.

B.E.R.P products are hugely popular, and have helped many musicians become better players.
