Woodwind Orchestra Play Day 2019
Headed by the Artistic Director Shea Lolin, the Woodwind Orchestra Play Days are educational events held each year in London, Leeds and Bristol that bring together woodwind instrumentalists. The focus of them is to explore original repertoire and arrangements of the rarely heard soundworld of the woodwind orchestra.
There are three events, in London on February 2, Leeds on February 9 and finally Bristol on February 16, where Alice and Andy from John Packer will be taking a pop-up John Packer shop of various woodwind and accessories.
The Bristol day takes place at the Broadmead Baptist Church in Union Street, Bristol BS1 3HY between 10:15am and 4.45pm.
A team of visiting conductors take six sessions along with Artistic Director, Shea Lolin. It is a great way of meeting other woodwind players and to have great fun whilst making music in a large-scale orchestra. In addition to the playing, there are several trade stands selling instruments, accessories, sheet music and a whole load of advice for you and your playing!
Musicians need to be roughly grade five on their respective instrument to get the best from the day.
