Save the Date - Pearl Flute Day with Liz Walker
Pearl artist Liz Walker - will be at our showroom on Thursday July 25th for FREE one-to-one sessions with flautists.
Liz is a teacher at Wells Cathedral School in Wells and has recently become a Pearl artist. You can see her playing her Pearl cantabile Flute below.
The Flute masterclasses are a unique opportunity to get some fantastic free tuition from a highly respected player, who also specialises in baroque music.
A large display of Pearl flutes, including unique harmony flutes, will also available for trial on the day.
There is no age restriction, but spaces must be reserved in advance and musicians need to be Grade 4/5+. However, budding flautists are very welcome to observe lessons. To reserve a space or more information please contact our office on 01823 282386!
Elizabeth studied at the Royal College of Music as a Junior Exhibitioner (where she was awarded the Sally Wainwright woodwind prize in 1985) and as a graduate at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying renaissance flute with Nancy Hadden, baroque and eight – keyed classical flute with Stephen Preston and modern flute with Kathryn Lukas. She went on to do a postgraduate study of Early Music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague.
Today, Elizabeth performs regularly on her baroque, 8 keyed and modern flutes, primarily in orchestras based in the UK, and also gives solo recitals in festivals and conventions in Holland, Toronto, Chicago and Orlando, Switzerland and throughout the UK. She teaches at the specialist music school in Wells and runs Flutes in Tuscany, an annual flute course in Tuscany which offers tuition, masterclasses and chamber groups to talented young flautists and adults. She is an Artist for Pearl Flute.
