JP214G Piccolo Review

The 214G Piccolo is base on its counterpart, the 114, but has a gold plated headjoint. This is not simply a cosmetic affectation as it also adds an element of warmth and maturity to the sound.
Beyond that, it is of the same specification as the 114 and the comments below apply just as much to this instrument.

Amazing!!!

Every young flute player usually ends up wanting a piccolo. The choice on offer is nowhere near as big as with student model flutes -
Yamaha YPC 32, Jupiter 303S, Hardy and Gemeinhardt are the most popular makes of piccolo available and cost between £350 and £450. Quite a lot of money for such a tiny instrument. But now a new piccolo has arrived on the market which will delight young players,
their teachers and, most definitely, their parents.

John Packer Ltd. have just started selling their own brand piccolo and it is truly amazing. It plays very well and has been well-tested
for durability by the Packer technicians. The most amazing thing is a young person could be the proud owner and player of one of these for only £125!!!! It is almost too good to be true!

A full round tone in the bottom octave, and ease of articulation is the mark of a good piccolo - this one passes with flying colours! In
fact it's pretty responsive all over apart from the top, top B - but hey, who wants to hear that note from choice anyway? At £199 RRP,
this comes in at less than the price of a repad - I think I'll have 3!!
