JP 144 Cadence Baritone Saxophone Eb Lacquer The Cadence baritone saxophone offers high technical standards in support of great versatility and resonance in performance. The rose brass bow and bell give great depth to the sound. For the price, this instrument is unsurpassed.

I recently decided that I needed a second baritone as a back up to my Selmer MK VI. Another MK VI was well out of my price range so having heard good reports about the John Packer Cadence I thought I'd give one a try. The Cadence looks and feels very well made and I was very impressed with the feel of the key work and it's tone throughout it's entire range. The bottom end is very easy to blow and has a full, rich tone. Equally the top end sounds great with very good intonation.

Before buying it I tried about a dozen other makes and I must say it felt and sounded head and shoulders above anything in it's price range and was comparable to horns twice it's price. If you're in the market for a baritone sax, try the Cadence!

Nick Lunt from Jools Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra,

This baritone saxophone is the latest edition to the JP family and we are over the moon. This really is an outstanding instrument but don't just take our word for it, top professional Pete Long was extremely impressed too!

"I was introduced to the new Cadence on a recent visit to Packer's to pick up a couple of my instruments which had been put in for overhaul. When I arrived, Parky and the chaps were very excited about a new toy, which had just been brought back from Taiwan, and they asked me to have a quick look at it while I was in.

Knowing that a bit of market research can always be transferred later into discount reeds, I was delighted to help. I must confess that I was expecting the usual from one of the far eastern discount instruments. The usual normally consists of some pretty good engineering, a pretty good sound, and a pretty good price, with a couple more bells and whistles added on from the previous model.

Not so here- The Cadence is outstanding in every way. The only difficulty in playing came from trying to blow whilst standing dazed and slack-jawed in disbelief! From the very first note, the instrument performed as well as, if not better than its competitors in the very highest price ranges. Bang in tune, beautiful bright sound and easy mechanism all adds up to an unbeatable package for only £1895. Expect to see them on every street corner.
