Jon Parkinson -

Placeholder Born July 28th, 19...... Now, much to my surprise I have grown up (well, become older anyway) and have a wife, Miranda, two daughters (Martha and Amy), Smoothy the cat and Toffee and Pebbles (no, I didn't choose the names) the rabbits. I recently came out of the closet by admitting that I originally trained as a viola player and only gained an interest in the flute after a brief stint at university studying law. Between University and getting back into the music business I trained as a social worker (which helps a lot in the world of music) and played bass guitar in a heavy rock band (which doesn't help at all). I then spent more years than I wish to admit to working with specialist flute companies before joining John Packer here in Taunton. I am now pleased to be a director of a company whose ethos has always been to support music at all levels and to endeavour to provide customers with the best choice and service that we possibly can. We aren't the biggest company selling a myriad different instruments - we only sell what we can play and what we can repair. We aren't the cheapest company, because those that sell cheaply don't have enough margin left to enable them to provide good service. We certainly are the company which tries the hardest to look after you in that old fashioned way - a good choice of good products, all properly prepared with experienced staff who can help you through the confusion of making the right choice and all with the help of some excellent technical staff to deal with any problems that might arise. I hope that any contact with John Packers is a pleasant experience and one that you might want to repeat.
