Clarinet
The clarinet is a member of the single reed family. Most clarinets transpose. The standard type is in the key of Bb, often paired with an A when the player achieves a higher level of competence. Other keys inlude A, C, D, Eb, Alto, Basset Clarinet (A), Basset Horn (F), Bass to low Eb, bass to low C, Contra alto (EEb) and Contra bass (BBb). Student models are usually made of plastic with step up/professional models made form members of the African Blackwood family. Keywork is usually silverplated nickel.
