French Horns
As the french horn is considered to be the most difficult brass instrument to play it is imperative that an entry level instrument should be as easy to play as possible so that a student can progress steadily and surely.
French horn teachers are often divided on the subject of which french horn to commence their pupils on, ie single Bb or single F therefore John Packer have produced two stunning 'kinder' (small wrap) french horns for the younger starter namely the JP161 Bb and the JP162 F french horns.
When a student progresses and needs to learn both 'sides' of the french horn a decision on whether to opt for a compensating or a full double is required and the JP range can offer both instruments. The JP163 compensating french horn is a lightweight student instrument whilst the current JP136 double french horn has a large bell and throat designed for the player looking for a larger instrument.
