Double Reeds
Over the last few years we have put a lot of energy into creating a range of products that are good value for money, reliable and relevant to the needs of pupils and teachers alike. The JP081 is a great starter instrument . It is specifically designed to give financial access to what has historically been a prohibitively priced instrument. Much of the cost of the oboe has been to do with the complicated mechanism - so we have simply removed most of the keywork which isn't necessary for the first few grades. The JP181MkII is the opposite. Traditionally most student oboes have only had enough keywork to do up to about grade 5, but we have incorporated extra keys to enable access to the higher grades.
The JP191MkII shortreach bassoon follows the principle of the JP081 oboe, not in that it has fewer keys, but that they are configured to enable smaller hands to operate the instrument.
These instruments have been warmly welcomed by the education system where oboes and bassoons have been in serious decline of the last few years.
