Clarinets
Over the last few years we have put a lot of energy into creating a range of products that are good value for money, reliable and relevant to the needs of pupils and teachers alike. The JP021 is a great starter instrument and will comfortably get the player into the middle grades. The JP 121MkIV is more substantial and comes with a better case.
For those wanting to start at an earlier age, we have developed the JP123 which is an Eb clarinet with a reduced key system to avoid difficult stretches and finger combinations.
The full system Eb clarinet (JP223) is great for ensemble players of almost any standard looking for an inexpensive harmony clarinet that is in tune, reliable and inexpensive.
Some teachers like the flexibility and size of a C clarinet (JP124) as it gives the flexibility to play the same music as flutes and violins etc. Once again this is available with a simpler keywork system for younger players (JP125).
For ensemble players we also have the JP122 bass clarinet to Eb which is a good workhorse and will deal with anything that is required of a player even at the higher end of the amateur spectrum.
N.B. Before buying an Eb or C clarinet, make sure that the teacher is happy to teach on instruments in these keys.
All clarinets can be upgraded by the addition of a better mouthpiece which will offer improvements in terms of response and tonal and dynamic range.
